Design development is an owner operated custom home builder and remodeler. Mark Siepiela combines over 30 years of experience with his passion for creative and innovative projects. Specializing in modern finish out, Mark has worked with several of Dallas’ finest Architects and Designers. “What I love about modernism is its attention to the smallest of details, all critical to the outcome of the project as a whole.” Having started in the home building business at the age of 13, Mark has worked from the ground up, literally. “I remember spending my summers with my brother, who was a home builder in Austin. I would spend 8 hours a day cleaning frames, sheetrock and sweeping out houses. It was hard work, but I was fascinated at the step by step process of building a house.” Mark went on to build roof and floor trusses in a Truss plant in San Marcos, TX, where he graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a degree in Computer Information Systems. “I remember interviewing for computer programmer jobs out of college, and leaving every interview saying “I can’t do that all day”. I quickly returned to the business in my blood and began designing for a local builder. This was when you still drew plans by hand.” The desire to actually oversee the construction led Mark to the field where he realized what he loved to do. Having spent several years building a variety of “Old World” and “European influenced” architecture, Mark quickly gravitated to modernism. With his background in design and his love for modern architecture Design Development was born.
His portfolio consists of new construction, extensive gut remodels and kitchen and bath redo’s in the Bluffview, Greenway Park, Park Cities and Lakewood areas of Dallas. “I love to building inside the loop.
